Feeling like life is escaping you?
That’s often the way I’ve felt. Always working, chasing the next job, project, paycheck. The hustle.
It may seem obvious, that is no way to live. But slowing down, taking it easy from time to time, is easier said than done. I’ve spent the last five years hustling, chasing the ever evasive dollar and elusive “I’ll relax when…”.
Let me tell you, that time never comes, and the money is never guaranteed.
So take the time now, enjoy the moment, and appreciate what you have. We all have limited time, some more than others. We all have ends to meet, things we have to do, people to please or serve. But if we don’t take the time to care for ourselves, eventually we burn out. And when that happens, life can seem meaningless, like a chore, and honestly like a burden. When life gets that way, it can be like trying to see out of a deep pit. “I’m in too deep, so much to do, how can I possibly get out?”
I know. It’s hard to see. But there will be times when you can see, a brief moment to relax, to see what life can be. When those times come, seize it, hold on to it and remember. Take that as raw material to form your future. Don’t let it go to waste, forgetting about it and perpetuating the same frustrating rut you’ve been in. Take that moment to realize that there is more to life than you’ve been experiencing and that life can be enjoyable. Do something for others, do something yourself, and don’t feel guilty for taking a moment for you.
